Counseling Interests and Specialties
As a school social worker I had the opportunity to work with children and adolescents in both the generalized education setting and the special education setting. It is a privilege to get to walk along side children and teens as they adjust to new friendships, changing family dynamics, struggles with anxiety, fear, self esteem, grief and other life circumstances. During my time as a school social worker I also worked closely with the special education co op’s program for students with autism and their program for children with behavioral and emotional difficulties. I enjoy partnering with parents through the counseling process. I am interested in working with families who are adjusting or transitioning due to changing family dynamics such as gaining new family members, separation, divorce, remarriage, illness, military deployments or moving.

As I have expanded my practice into working with adults, I am interested in premarital and marriage counseling and working with women who are struggling with identity issues, relationships, anxiety, spiritual confusion, or life adjustment.

What You Should Know About Me
As I am invited in to walk along side of an individual, couple or family I regularly come away from sessions humbled and thankful for the courage individuals have as they open up and share their life, struggles, pain, concerns and doubts. It is a privilege to be invited into the parts of a person’s and family’s life that are so often hidden.

Family
My husband and I began dating ten years ago and have been married for four years. We are looking forward to the birth of our first child, who is due in March! We live in the Metro East and are originally from the Chicago suburbs. We enjoy being outside, traveling, Sunday afternoons at the Bread Co, and good food.

Why are you apart of Karis House?
I love being part of the Karis House Team! I am grateful to work along side of people who speak truth to me and point me to Jesus. It is great to be part of a team of people who are really fun and don’t take themselves too seriously, but do take the gospel seriously and make much of Jesus for ourselves, for one another, and for the families and clients we get to work with.
