What You Should Know About Me
The journey to becoming a counselor has been a long and winding one. I have always had a pretty broad variety of interests. I was involved with sports, music, and theater in high school, and my adult life has been just as varied. I have fund-raised for elementary schools, been a youth and worship director at a church, and coached basketball at a YMCA. These various activities and jobs have all pointed me to the joy of knowing and growing with people, a passion I get to pursue whole-heartedly in counseling.
I enjoy cool weather, book clubs, college football, the mountains, and casually slipping Lord of the Rings references into every day conversations.
I met my wife in my first semester at Covenant Seminary, and we have been married since October of 2016. She graduated with her MAC degree this past May, so we have a house full of counselors! Most of my family still lives in my hometown of Columbus, Ohio (Go Bucks!), where my mother is a teacher and my father is a home contractor/massage therapist.
Why are you apart of Karis House?
Karis House sees the beauty and value of relationships as massive agents that God uses to empower change. The most powerful healing and growth I have experienced has been in the context of Spirit-empowered relationships, and Karis is a place where that is not only encouraged but relied upon. The group of counselors at Karis House are warm, welcoming, and encouraging, which leads to an environment where all who enter can grow and heal. I am excited to be a part of the work God is doing through Karis House in my community in South City!
